Sitka's summer weather is predictably unpredictable. You will likely see both sunny and rainy days during your stay. Plan on temperatures in the 50's and 60's. Dress in layers allowing you to add or remove clothing to adjust to conditions. We provide rain gear, both top and bottom, on the boat as well as rubber boots. We have laundry facilities at the lodge so don't over pack. Try and bring clothing and personal effects in a carry on size duffel.

The Alpine Lakes Wilderness, on the east side of the Cascades in the central part of the state, is generally warmer and drier than the rest of the state. In spring, temperatures range from 50–70°. The sun shines most of the time, but spring breezes can be chilly. Sometimes we encounter snow flurries as late as May. Fall weather is highly variable. Rocky Mountain weather can change very quickly. From sunburn to snow storms, the CT user can hit them all. Lightning is a real danger at higher elevations. While Norway is at the same latitude as Alaska and Hudson Bay, Canada, the temperature in Norway’s western Fjords region is tempered by the influence of the Gulf Stream which, after crossing the Atlantic, heads north along Europe. Firstly, there will be no heavy rain all day, no terrible thunderstorms or any sort of torrential rain storms. Weather on this island is quite hard to predict. Sometime you could see sun shining during the rainy season and sometimes it rains during the sunny season. Dress comfortably and casually for class. Men do not wear suit jackets. They restrict your movement. Anything from jeans and t-shirts to dress slacks and a nice shirt is acceptable. Ladies may wear jeans, slacks, skirts, whatever you feel comfortable in. It's a good idea to dress in layers: start with a sweater until you get warm. Bring a water bottle too.
