How do I stencil on fabric?
StenSource International: Frequently Asked QuestionsBefore stenciling the fabric, wash and dry it according to label instructions. This will remove the sizing (chemical coating) in new fabric. If the sizing is not removed, your stencil paint will not bond well with the material. When stenciling on fabric, it is much easier if you can keep the fabric from moving around. Do this by using a light coat of spray adhesive on a piece of cardboard that is about 2" larger than the piece of fabric you want to stencil. See similar questions...

What is the difference between woven and welded mesh?
TWP Inc 800-227-1570Woven mesh is produced by the process of weaving, that is, by passing wires alternately over and under each other. Welded mesh is a grid formed of wires that are fused together at their junctions. It is produced on automatic welding looms by accurately positioning the short (weft) wires over the long (warp) wires and spot welding their intersections (not over and under, as in ordinary weaving). What's the difference between woven and printed silk?
FAQsIn a word: texture. The colors and motifs you see in woven silk come from actual threads of silk; the designs are woven directly into the silk as the fabric is born on a jacquard loom. With printed silk, the design is applied to smooth silk using silk-screens and inks. Prints make fine ties, and can have more colors than wovens, but we think you'll appreciate the texture and beautifully intricate construction of woven silk. See similar questions...
Why do woven ties sometimes snag?
FAQsIt’s just the nature of the beautiful beast. Woven silk is more likely to snag than printed silk because with woven silk, every color is made up of its own thread, and exposed threads are what snag. With printed silks, dyes are applied to a much smoother piece of silk. But what you gain in durability, you lose in intricacy and texture. See similar questions...

My polyethylene (plastic) kayak is deformed. What can I do?
BoréalDesign -- F.A.Q.A rudder serves to change directions, but also to hold course. A kayak equipped with a rudder allows the user to paddle under changing wind, wave and current conditions. A rudder makes everything so much easier! A skeg is basically an immobile rudder used to maintain course. The skeg is located under the hull, one third of the distance from the stern. It can be adjusted to suit navigation conditions. In windy, choppy weather, the skeg requires the skills of an advanced paddler. See similar questions...
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN VINYL AND POLYETHYLENE BINDERS?
Binders.comVinyl binders are made by electronically sealing two sheets of vinyl over rigid paperboard. How do I dye fabric?
FAQThe fabric must be able to withstand 60 degree Celsius water and must not be damaged by creasing. Cold dyes exist but they're a pain in the neck to use and the colour doesn't stand up to repeated washing. Buy some Dylon Hand Dye (Woolworths sell it along with their sewing stuff) and a bag of cooking salt. Then get hold of an old bucket or bowl, a pair of rubber gloves and a clean wooden stick (the bowl, gloves and stick will be stained afterwards). See similar questions...
