The time to arrive was on your activities sign up sheet. 8:00 am is the arrival time for most volunteers. The Salvation Army Canteen truck will be available for coffee, tea, juice & cocoa; Tim Horton’s donuts will also be available.

You’ll need someone to register people if you are charging an admission fee and to distribute seminar notebooks, flyers and information cards and perhaps someone to assist our seminar presenter if he or she has books to sell. You may also need helpers for serving refreshments, running the sound system, etc. The number is up to you.

The best place to identify 9Health Fair volunteers is with your family and friends. Also, service club organizations like the Lions Club, Rotary Club, Optimist Club, and organizations like area schools, universities and churches are great resources for non-medical volunteers. Medical volunteers can be found at hospitals, doctors' offices, dentists' offices, nursing or dental schools, area ambulance companies, fire departments and more.

Limited hourly compensation is offered for actual firefighting duties. Over 80% of all emergency responses are non-fire related and therefore do not offer compensation. Volunteer Firefighters are members of their community-based Volunteer Fire Company and offer their volunteer services for the benefit and protection of their community.

In most circumstances, volunteers do not need to be fingerprinted and have a CJIS check completed. If a volunteer functions as a staff member of a Covered Entity, then he/she is required to follow the same screening procedures that apply to paid employees. This would include the CJIS/Fingerprint Check, rather than the Volunteer Criminal History Screening.
