We do indeed have wireless, which you are welcome to experience with your laptop, or a laptop that you check out from the Reserve Desk. You should be able to access the network from just about anywhere in the library, after logging into the network with your ECnet username and password. To set up your laptop to print to the library printer, follow the instructions on the Emerson Helpdesk website.

If you choose to use Orange GPRS as your ISP to access the Internet, the dialup connection you will need to use will be Orange_GPRS. If you choose to use another ISP (e.g. Freeserve), the connection will be called Mobile_.

These networks are becoming common in cities and towns worldwide — Internet cafes and coffee shops are popping up everywhere! — as well as in public areas like airports, hotels and convention centres or anywhere people gather. Not directly. Solano Wireless Internet provides "wireless Internet access", not "wireless networking" (the term "wireless" is thrown around pretty loosely). Wireless Internet access means that there are no cables (phone line, cable or other physical connections) between our transmitting towers and relay stations and your roof-top receiver. We deliver the "signal" to you via wireless transmission.
