To apply for Graduate Nonmatriculated (GNM) status, you will need to contact the graduate coordinator in the UW department that offers the class you wish to take (view a list of departmental contact information). Departments will counsel students about GNM status and provide instructions, application forms, and departmental requirements. (Please note that not all departments offer GNM status.) Submit a request in writing (via fax to 214 871 1943 or US Postal service, but not both) with the physician's full name and social security number or birth date. Since patients will have neither the social security number nor birth date, they may submit the physician's full name and address.

Nonmatriculated (NM) status is an undergraduate status, and students in this status do not earn graduate credit, even if the courses they take are at the graduate level. Credits earned in this status can apply to an undergraduate degree if the student later becomes matriculated or may be used in preparation for graduate school. The credits can never be counted as graduate credit even if the student later becomes a graduate student. You do not need to apply for Nonmatriculated (NM) status.

Students should begin the process 12 to 24 months prior to beginning classes. The academic year usually begins in August/September, with many schools, however, offering beginning sessions in January. Students must first make a selection of schools to which they wish to apply. AUAP will provide a list of the five schools best suited to a particular student. Students must also take the various tests required for admission into the schools prior to submitting applications.

Full-time students are those who take a minimum of 12 units per semester with the exception of the summer term. Some students need to prove full-time status for medical or car insurance programs.

Generally student visa are not issued based on conditional acceptance. There may however be some exception especially if it is part of the program of study.

Please make this request in writing, being sure to include your I.D.#, your full name, (if married, please include your maiden name), degree level and also state if you attended another Institution prior to NCU.

If you require a formal document from the University to verify your qualification or graduation, the Student Services Centre can provide you with a student letter upon request. A fee of $20 applies for each letter.

No. While most of the people who apply to our program are actively enrolled in college, graduate school, or law school, you do not have to be a student to be considered for an internship at NOW. Several of our past interns have simply used the experience to improve their knowledge of women's issues or their grassroots organizing skills. Others have used the experience to see if they would be interested in pursuing a career in feminist activism or the non-profit sector.
