You must have an Internet connection established to connect to GroupWise. If you can get to the Internet, you should be able to open GroupWise. If you get an error message saying you are unable to connect to the TCP/IP address and you have an active Internet connection, the GroupWise Internet Protocol information is missing. A dialogue box may appear asking for a TCP/IP address and Port number. For TCP/IP, type wpo.cso.niu.edu. For Port type 1677.

Verifiy that the username that is being displayed in the User ID box is correct. Groupwise usernames and passwords are case sensitive, so make sure that your cap locks are not on. When you click on the GroupWise icon, it should prompt you for a username. If it does not, follow the steps in section 9.1 of this FAQ. The GroupWise properties can be modified so that when the icon is clicked, a box appears that allows the user to enter their GroupWise username and password. When the GroupWise Properites box pops up, select the Shortcut tab. The screen will look like the one below, except you will need to add the /@u-? The Novell GroupWise IMAP server would be better named GroupFoolish; it is (according to the designer of IMAP) unusably broken. Among other things, it doesn't include a required content length in its BODY[TEXT] response. Fetchmail works around this problem, but we strongly recommend voting with your dollars for a server that isn't brain-dead. Each GroupWise mailbox is allotted 500MB of space. Your mailbox includes all the folders in your GroupWise Cabinet and elsewhere. Once you reach 90% of your space allotment you will be warned to clean out your mailbox.
