ANSWER: The center of my roller bearings fit very tight on the shaft. So tight in fact that they would normally have to be pressed on. I used an old USAF bearing installation trick (I'm not claiming we invented it, just used it). I put the main shaft in the freezer (lubed first) and heated the bearing in the hot sun (I finally found a use for San Antonio heat). After about an hour I installed the hot bearing on the cold shaft. The first time I did it, I didn't heat the bearing.

Liquid penetrant (PT), Visual testing (VT), and radiographic film interpretation (RT) are all available on-site at SF&E. SF&E’s QA department has retained the services of an on-site NDT lab that handles all of the NDT that we cannot perform such as radiography, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic inspection.

GPR/Conquest does not pose any heath hazards and such work can be conducted during normal business hours. With X-rays, work must be carried out when there are no people in the vicinity due to the hazards of stray radiation; this usually means working after midnight. X-ray personnel need to be certified and work will require several people on site, some to setup and operate the machine and others to ensure that no unauthorized people are present.

Payment terms will be 50% advance and balance on completion of job against our report within 7 days by electronic transfer to our bank account.
