What is dynamic bandwidth allocation?

Cheap ISP Internet Service: Cheap ISDN, ISDN ISP Cheap
Dynamic bandwidth allocation is the ability for a device to drop and add channels as needed. True dynamic bandwidth would allow a terminal adapter to allocate a second channel if the load on the first one becomes too heavy. Using dynamic bandwdith allocation is also helpful in reducing the number of hours used monthly overall. We recommend this to our 128k dual channel users to minimize their usage. Bandwidth Monitoring and Control
Many routers (and other equipment) are equipped with counters. With a special network protocol you can read such a counter, wait for five minutes, and then read the counter again. In normal circumstances the counter will increase by a certain amount. Network bandwidth is usually measured per second. By dividing the five-minute increase by 300 (the number of seconds in five minutes) you'll know the bandwidth. The monitoring software calculates the rate and displays it as an image. On an X11 device, plotting sometimes, e.g., when running demo("image"), results in “Error: color allocation error”. This is an X problem, and only indirectly related to R.
