The best source for Cocktail Drums is through vintage drum dealers on the internet. Occasionaly you may find one in an old music shop or flea market but that is much less likely. Cocktail Drums are also available new from Yamaha and Remo as well as many custom drum manufacturers.

A "cocktail," also known as combination therapy, means taking two or more anti-retroviral drugs together to fight HIV. It appears that the basic cocktail style kit was first created in the 40's with the Carlton Combination. A drum is electrically charged as it rotates to create an electrostatic image. The printer then coats the charged drum with toner and the drum will roll the toner onto the paper—delivering the final copy.

Ceremony music (on site only) can be coordinated by Karen. Options available are solo Keyboardist or two piece Keyboardist and flute. Classical and contemporary programs are available. Cocktail hour options are solo pianist or our acoustic jazz combo for a lively alternative.

DJM Star Time plays a very classy Jazz or R&B type of music for your cocktail hour at an appropriate background sound level. We can also customize cocktail music to go with your theme (i.e. Hollywood theme, etc) or, if you are having a separate cocktail room with young adult guests, we can provide a variety of music they are most interested in.

It is important to give your guests ample time to arrive, park and get into the building. It is also important to allow the Bride and Groom to finish photos at the Ceremony Site, arrive to The Phoenix and take photos on the staircase and prepare to be introduced into the Ballroom.

Our Chocolate Fountain are intended to be used for dessert. Usually the last 3 hours of your event, generally when dinner is being served. A predetermined amount of dippers are supplied at each event depending on the number of guests. Typically, when the Fountain and Bar are used at the beginning of a function your guests will be hungry and consume the dippers included with your package in a short amount of time.

Included in the package is 1 musician. You have your choice of solo keyboards or piano, solo saxophone with backing tracks, solo acoustic guitar with backing tracks, or DJ. Additional musicians can be added at an additional charge. You may have sax and keys or a jazz trio of keys, sax and drums. TOP

Several companies have begun making Cocktail Drums in recent years. Kits are available from some larger manufacturers like Yamaha and Remo and several custom drum makers are now offering cocktail sets.

Cocktail drums generally sound like a bass drum and a snare drum. Because of their small size the bass drum is often higher pitched and much quiter than a larger bass drum. Also, on the single drum models there is quite a bit of intereaction between the two heads (IE: Hitting the bottom head rattles the snares. Strinking the snare side resonates the bottom head. One or more band members usually perform at the cocktail hour and we like to feature our jazz trio (upright bass, sax, and guitar). We can also provide classical ensembles, Caribbean music or strolling violins. Music for wedding ceremonies is also available.
