Lens power is written in Dioptres, which is 1/focallength(metres). For example, a 5.0D (5.0 dioptre) lens has a focal length of 0.

During the eye test, your Optician will assess the degree of focussing errors in your eyes. From the results of this test, he/she will prescribe appropriate lenses for you. The optician will then complete a prescription form that describes precisely the specification of the lenses needed to correct your eyes' focussing errors. You are under no obligation to purchase glasses with these lenses from the optician that tests your eyesight. Under English law, you may buy your glasses from elsewhere.

If you need a copy of your latest glasses prescription, please call the office at (706) 922-6000. If your prescription is less than a year old we will provide you a copy of it that you can pick up, or we can mail it to you, or we will call it to your preferred optician.
