If your last math course was at the UA (and you withdrew, or wish to engage in a grade replacement), you generally should still be able to register for that course; however, if too much time has elapsed and the math placement code that got you into that course depended on placement criteria that can expire, you may have to first take the MRT (even if you already took it in the past).

You must use an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program. Not just any one will do, however; normal FTP programs transmit usernames and passwords in the clear, so we require the use of an FTP program that supports the SSH security protocol (Note that this is different from the SSL protocol commonly seen in web browsers.) If this is all Greek to you and you don't know how to go about finding such a program; don't worry; UCS provides one for you.

Make sure you're not using any of the Geko-family broswers (Firefox, Mozilla, Camino, Netscape). Actually, just make sure you're using an IE-based browser (Yahoo!, MSN, AOL, Advant, etc.). Next, check over your code to make sure there's no mispelled words or anything. If it still doesn't work, you can come here and ask and you should get an answer. Be patient and WAIT for the answer.

You may register for courses on any Kwantlen campus. However, the campuses are approximately 30 minutes apart by car. Sections beginning with a "L" are held in Langley, "R" in Richmond campus, and "S" in Surrey campus.

Drop? Oh noooooooooooo! The last day to drop the course so that it will be deleted from your transcript is 15 September 2006, Friday of the 4th week of classes. You can do this without a signature via RSVP. If you want to withdraw later, the last day to drop with a "W" is 13 October 2006, Friday of the 8th week of classes. To receive a W, you must have a passing grade at the time you drop the course and obtain the instructor's signature.

Unless you are using your Quia book on your own, outside of a school setting, you will need a course code. A course code allows an instructor to track your progress through the book and to assign grades. Your instructor will provide you with a course code.

For online courses, you do not have to ever physically visit Charter Oak State College. Courses can be conveniently completed via computer with Internet access. If you are taking a video-based course, we require that the midterm and final exam be proctored. If you are a Connecticut resident the tests are proctored at Charter Oak State College [directions]. If you live out of state, you need to arrange proctoring, which requires submission of a Proctor Form (Word; 60kb).

If you have a friend in the dormitory who you wish to stay with for longer than the days we provide free to visitors, you must make arrangements with the dormitory dean to stay there. Unfortunately, our budget does not allow us to provide more than three days / nine meals to our visitors. If we house you or your family in a local hotel you will need to make arrangements with the hotel to pay for any extra nights you stay there.

We offer gift certificates for all courses. The certificate can be for an entire course, or for a dollar amount towards a course. We issue a "No Date" gift certificate that entitles the holder to take advantage of the certificate for a period of one year from the date of issuance.

In some cases, a professor will issue overrides. This means he or she is allowing a certain number of students to enroll in the course even though the capacity has been met. Professors are not required to give overrides. Students attempting to gain an override should speak to the professor as soon as possible, but no later than the first day of class. Override forms are only available from the professor. Please note that students must still meet any prerequisite requirements for the course.

Details of internal courses are currently published in a training programme produced by Development and Training, which is circulated throughout the University. The programme will soon be available on the internet. Check the Student Service Centre frequently. Registration often fluctuates especially during the registration period and when it is close to the start of the term. If classes have started and you have still not been able to register, attend the class and ask the professor if s/he is willing to sign an add/drop form. The Professor may no - it is their discretion.
