Hair reacts to certain oils quite differently than does the skin. Therefore, the fats used to create a gentle-but-cleansing shampoo are very different from what is needed to create a gentle-but-cleansing skin formula. The most striking difference is the proportion of coconut oil. In a skin formulation, you don't want to use too much coconut oil. That is a tough one to answer and I say that it is dependent on the user. If you take good care of your soap, and let it dry out between uses, our 4-5 ounce bar will last around a month as an all over body-care product. Yes, you can! I don't recommend it for every time, unless that happens to work for your hair, but just once won't give you that washed-with-soap-hair feeling. It will not leave a residue like commercial soap. The body soap does not contain the same conditioning oils as the shampoo, so it will not leave your hair quite as soft, but some people wash their hair with it regularly with no problem.
