Q0030: I'm trying to use a query-style lookup for hosts that are allowed to relay, but it is giving really weird errors. Q0031: Exim is rejecting connections from hosts that have more than one IP address, for no apparent reason. Gnus will look for the spool file in /usr/spool/news, if you want something different, change the line above to something like this: add-to-list 'gnus-secondary-select-methods '(nnspool "" (nnspool-directory "/usr/local/myspoolddir"))) This sets the spool directory for this server only. You might have to specify more stuff like the program used to post articles, see the Gnus manual on how to do this.

This was much more of a problem in earlier releases but as of J2SE 5.0 most applications should not see a problem. Some of it is platform specific and in general things are better on Windows than Solaris and Linux. The spool directory needs to have ownership and permissions set correctly. Normally, this directory has owner root and group mail, and has permissions set drwxrwxr-x or drwxrwxrwt. (The second form sets the sticky bit to prevent non-owners from deleting or renaming files.) The first form of the second command sets permissions so that only user root or group mail can create or write files.

After putting the printer on-line, you should check for incomplete spool files and remove them, especially if you receive Incomplete Spool Files, Low System Resources, or System Full messages. You will then be able to continue the Index Print process. Usually the third column from the right, the /var partition, fills to 80% or more with spool files.
