Any line in the test area, no matter how faint, should be interpreted as a negative test. Perform the second test (included with our Total Body and complete cleansers) and this will verify whether you are clean or not. The shade of red in the test region will vary, but it should be considered negative wherever there is even a faint pink line.

Any very faint line on the test region could indicate that the drug in the sample could be near the cut-off level for the test. We always have LH in our systems, so the test can pick it up. Most of the tests don't show a full positive result until 25-40 mIU, but many will show a faint line with LH levels over 10 mIU. If your result line often has significant color, you should consider trying another brand. If you still get a significant line, you should consider having your doctor test your LH levels on the third day of your next cycle to see if your hormone levels are elevated.

A positive result will always be indicated by the presence of a distinct color band in the 'test' region of the pregnancy test strip or midstream test (accompanied by the presence of the 'control' band). If the test is faint (in comparison to the control band), the test may be positive, though the presence of hCG in the woman's body - or urine sample - may be low. The presence of hCG doubles every two days in a pregnant woman.

Many women seeking pregnancy want very much to "see a line". What may appear to be a faint line could be a shadow, blotch, or in some cases a rare evaporation mark. These are not a positive result. If you are pregnant, the test line will be distinct and obvious similar to the control line.

A true positive will usually show up within the first couple of minutes. It could be what is sometimes called an "evaporation line". If you follow the directions and use an NLLAP accredited lab, the results should be accurate. A lot depends on you and how careful you are when taking your samples.

You need to take it easy for a few hours after giving blood, so give that aerobics class a miss. But if you do feel faint or dizzy, sit down immediately and put your head between your knees. Ideally, let someone else know if you're feeling a little faint. If dizziness persists after your donation, don't hesitate to call the blood donation centre to let them know and they’ll be able to advise you further.

Once you call in to receive your results over the phone, a copy of the results can be mailed or faxed to you.
