Polyurethane is a term used to describe a wide ranging family of elastomers (any compound exhibiting the characteristics of natural rubber; stretchy and elastic.). Poly meaning "many" and "urethane" the classification of the chemical structure. Polyurethane or urethane for short, is used as a solid cast material (bushings). Polyurethane can be as soft as a rubber band or as hard as plastic.

No, latex product is not the same as urethane or furniture foam. Urethane is a plastic. It doesn't have the longevity and resiliency of rubber. They don't make rubber bands or tires out of urethane (plastic), because urethane can't stretch and return to shape like rubber. In short, when worked, they lose resiliency and shape. The just won't give you the same comfort a year from now that they do in the showroom.

You may mix any of our urethane clears into the final coat of an ULTRA-GLO acrylic urethane paint job. Doing so is a quick and easy way to improve the gloss and long-term durability of the paint finish, without having to apply a full clearcoat. It should be noted that this is not as effective as applying a full clear coat. Moisture curing urethane is 1K polyisocyanate resin which reacts with atmospheric moisture to form urea linkages.Although this is technically a polyurea system, it is generally referred to as moisture cured urethane (MCU).The chemistry is that polyisocyanates first undergo a reaction with water to form carbamic acid which dissociates to form amine & carbon dioxide which further undergo reaction with isocyanate to form urea linkages.Urea linkages offer excellent bonding characteristics.

Urethane and fiberglass are two different materials used to make body kits. Urethane body kits have perfect or near-perfect fitment and are more durable than fiberglass parts.
