Internet copying. Except for some of the abstracts, I guarantee each and every one of my prints to be as clear and vivid as if you were looking through a window! At my shows, one of the most frequent questions I'm asked is if my photographs are real, because they appear so perfect. My images are all actual photographs and are not graphically enhanced or manipulated in any way. What you see is exactly what I saw when I took the picture.

Blurry images are generally due to one or all of the following three causes. The subject was not in focus, the camera was moving at the time of the exposure, the image was captured at too low a resolution. Out of focus images are by far the biggest problem with most of the images we see on the internet, we strongly urge you to learn to focus your camera. It will probably require you to dig out and spend some time with your camera's user manual.

America Online utilizes graphics compression software that speeds up the delivery of web pages to it's members by compressing images and various multimedia applications. Images that are BMP, GIF or JPG are converted into the proprietary Johnson-Grace image format .ART. All AOL members have the option of deselecting "Used Compressed Graphics" in their Web Preferences.

Blurry images are often the result of movement during image capture. Either the camera was not held still ? a phenomenon called "camera shake" ? or the subject was moving and the camera did not fire with a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the action.

Stenciled designs that are not crisp usually mean that you are overloading your brush. Loading your brush with too much paint is by far the most common mistake that is made by both beginners and pros. Dip the tips of the bristles of your brush into the paint. Using a paper towel remove most of the paint from the brush by swirling the brush into the paper towel.

The problem is your AOLful browser, and the fix is to ditch the obsolete thing. AOL provides its users with an archaic browser that's more or less hobbled in comparison to those used in the outside world. It's sad but true: no one going at it with a standard AOL browser has any idea what the World Wide Web is really like. (Now you know why the cognoscenti characterize AOL as "Almost On Line".) Now that AOL owns Netscape, you'd think they'd give their customers a decent browser.

Your browser will have a way to save images it displays. In Netscape, right-click on the image and select "Save image as". In MS Internet Explorer, right-click and select "Save picture as". In either case be certain that you name the file something with a .jpg extension like TexasBurrMapZoom.jpg, because the default name presented to you in the dialog box might be something like makeJpg.cgi.

It is possible you have the Flash Mode set to one of the Slow Sync modes (lighting bolt with the word Slow). Slow synchronization flash sets a slow shutter speed for the background exposure and fires the flash for the subject exposure. Since the shutter speed is slow, your subject should be still and the camera should be on a tripod otherwise blur can result.

Make sure the images you upload are large enough resolution. At least 550 pixels along the longest dimension. Also, make sure your computer is not running any kind of "accelerator" programs. These programs are most common with aol and earthlink and "speed up" your download speed by reducing image quality.

Some users experience difficulties using all the features on sendspace when they are using the AOL browser. The AOL Browser is a special AOL version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer and some web sites may not always work or display correctly due to the way AOL compresses its graphics. One way to solve this particular problem is to turn off your compressed graphics if you are experiencing problems with your graphics or loading some pages on the web.

If you're using America Online, you probably have image compression turned on. Although this makes the photos download faster, it drastically reduces their quality. Consult the America Online instructions and turn off image compression to see the photos at full sharpness. (If these words look blurry also, consider buying a new monitor or consulting an eye doctor.)

PTMac uses reduced size images for the warped image preview and in the panorama editor window. The scale of the thumbnail images had to be reduced to gain acceptable performance on older computers. You can change the scale of images used for the editor window via the pop-up in the lower left corner of the editor window. You can choose one of the pre-selected options or enter your preference via the custom setting.

Maybe. The AOL browser is not a supported browser for using iMpact. Although some users are able use it without trouble, others are not, and we can't say with confidence that it works. There's a good reason for this inconsistency: AOL 4.0 is not one program but two. One works, the other doesn't. The AOL browser is really Internet Explorer "under the hood". However, some versions of AOL 4.0 are built on top of Internet Explorer 3.0 while others are built on IE 4.0.
