Map size depends on the window size of QuakeMap when you are preparing maps. A smaller window results in a smaller pdb file size. Run QuakeMap in windowed mode (not full screen) and resize the window to make it smaller. This way, you can prepare smaller 3-level maps taking up around 3-5Mb. level (Top,Zoom+) map pdb file 0.8 Mb (compressed format).
