Who creates a Blog Carnival?

Blog Carnival - Frequently Asked Questions
It takes a village, you might say. Although it is possible for one person to do everything it takes to make a Blog Carnival, the work is usually divided up like this: The Organizer starts the carnival, decides what it will be about, what the submission criteria are, and how often it will appear. They also coordinate who will host each edition of the carnival. As time passes, they find new volunteers to host.

Where are the games?

SBYSC Frequently Asked Questions
All home games are played at either Beverly Hills Park or El Franco Lee Park. Typically teddy bear teams are played at home but sometimes we partnership with an adjacent club and play games there. Older players play about 1/2 of the games at a home field and the remaining games at other clubs. Normally the travel time is 15 to 20 minutes or less. The farthest clubs are Galveston, Baytown and Crosby but it is unlikely you will travel that far.

The first show with Dave and other fen was September 19, 1979 (Year of our Moon Landing 10). It has always been weekly, but started off on Wednesdays, then Tuesdays and now Saturdays. For a while it was an hour long, but settled into a half-hour format over 10 years ago.

How did Shockwave get started?

Shockwave Frequently Asked Questions 6.0
Shockwave was started by three programmers at KFAI, Charles E. Hamilton III, Everett Forte and Chris Dronen. At the time, the station was only a year old and was very small, broadcasting a 10-watt mono signal "exclusive to parts of South Mpls". After a few weeks of playing sf music, Chris and Everett came to a local con and asked if anyone was interested in helping out. The next week I and a few other fen showed up.

Can I hear Shockwave over the net?

Shockwave Frequently Asked Questions 6.0
the moment, the legal situation is iffy at best. KFAI has all the proper licenses and we can play anything over the air. But the net is a different animal. I've talked to the station about what their license covers, and they are, quite properly, being cautious. There are essentially no laws covering music on the internet specifically, which is why the MP3 folk are causing headaches, but we want to be proper and keep all our friends. I don't want to slight any of the artists and musicians.

What are 'ShockWave' files?

e-Marketing, website design, e-Commerce, Website Development...
The 'ShockWave' file format has been developed by Macromedia. ShockWave files 'stream' (they play as the information comes, instead of waiting for the whole file to download). This makes them very convenient for large files, such as games, or animations. They can be interactive, they can even handle databases, and most modern browsers have the plug-in to play them. This technology is a very serious challenger to standard dynamic HTML format.
