The most common reason why a module won't fit is that it is backwards. Try flipping it around the other way. It doesn't matter which side of the module has the black chips or the stickers on it. The important thing is to make sure the notches on your module line up with the notches in the socket.

When you look at the memory installed on your motherboard, you should see some small retaining clips at either end of the slot. These clips may be plastic or metal and they come in a variety of shapes, depending on the design of your motherboard. When you press both clips, the module should be ejected from the slot. A 168 Pin Dimm is approximately 5 ¼ inches in length and 1 inch in height and contains 84 Pins on either side. It is referred to as a 168 Pin Dimm because it reads both sides of the Dimm simultaneously. The Dimm is different from the Simm in that it has two notches on the contact edge and inserts into the socket straight down, without the need for tilting.
