Know whom to trust. There are some pariah's out there, with some being noted (even banned from the world's largest Internet auction site eBay) in FBI reports. There are bad authenticators who will pass anything. If you have a piece you want authenticated, check the "ESSENTIAL LINKS" section on the front page. It should be noted that some autographs take two seconds to authenticate and some take weeks. James Spence from PSA/DNA says that 60% of all the autographs are 'questionable'.

We have an autograph session with players at the end of the game. You can have your program, a souvenir ball, t-shirt, or anything else signed.

Yeah, but I don't go crazy to get them. I don't hang out at the hotels or anything like that. In all the years that I've been going to games, I've collected about 1,500 autographs, mostly on ticket stubs. I never wanted to get my baseballs signed. I thought they should stay in their original condition, which is why I never played with them either. Tickets were small and portable and different.

There is no guarantee that you will have an opportunity to receive autographs during training camp, however, often at the end of practice, players sign autographs for fans along the sideline or at scheduled appearances at the Jets Shop Tent.

I've signed two autographs as Troy Aikman, both in the Dallas airport, for people who wouldn't believe I wasn't him. No. Most people look at me and say "Hey, you look like that dude in Back In The Future! What was his name...Butt?" And I say "Biff," and they say "Right! Biff!" and I say "I am the guy," and they say "No, you're not."

The million-dollar question that cannot be answered by this site. Ask yourself the following questions: Where did you get this piece? (Some guy, or a big auction house?) Who is the certificate of authenticity from? (Many 'experts' and business' perished in the feds bust) How much did you pay? (Did you pay too little?) How does the signature look? (Stops, hesitations, skips etc.). Some fine authenticators are listed under the "ESSENTIAL LINKS" page.

This is a tricky question but the person who owns the autographs issues them. If you get them authenticated, you can use their certificates. Unless you want to resell an item, there really is no purpose in this concern. This is especially the case if you get all the signatures yourself. Honestly, certificates of authenticity are essentially worthless unless they come from well-respected dealers.

If you are using a shopping cart with limited flexibility, you might want to send buyers to a new page in your Web before sending them to your cart.
