When issuing a map request that contains only a legend spec with no drawable map data (not specifying any basemap/themes/features), MapViewer will generate a map image that contains only the map legend. You can then get the URL of this legend image and show the legend somewhere in your web application external to the map images generated. This is more efficient than embedding a legend in every generated map.

We have integrated the legend directly into our map: Simply leave your mouse pointer over the point you are interested in and an information box will display further information.

This could be one of a number of problems, but the most frequent is a browser problem... Some browsers don't recognize the HTML code <INPUT TYPE=IMAGE...>. I think Netcom NetCruiser still has this problem, and older versions of other web browsers. You'll need to upgrade your web browser.

If you use Windows for your server, then REBOL/View can be used with server scripts (such as in CGI) to dynamically generate graphics. If you submit the title of a CD, DVD or BOOK, WishCentral will do it's best to locate the correct image for your wish. However sometimes the image may not match your product exactly. In the Edit Wish form you can check the "do not display image" checkbox to prevent the automatically generated image from being displayed. If your browser is inactive for too long, the security features of WishCentral automatically logs you out. Simply login again and continue.

A legend is basically a descriptive key for artwork requiring an explanation of content. Legends cover the who's, what's, and where's of a painting.

MapSpinner is a free application for creating image maps visually. There is a shortcuts to this application in the Tags : Image Map menu. Press the option key when selecting the application in the menu to view additional information about the application.

Open the map image file using the file -> open menu item. Ensure that the image resides on writeable media as the georeference data is saved in a file in the same location. Press the georeference map button to start the georeference dialog. First you should select the map projection from the drop down list, the map projection is the means by which the curved earth surface is mapped to a flat plane.

Search by Keyword - search for "Texas", "Arrowsmith", "Geographical", etc. The search is case insensitive. View a much larger page that shows "all maps" or some other large category. As these pages are slow, the previous searches are preferable.

To generate a DOI image, two inversions must be run using two different reference models. Starting with DenyHosts version 2.2, you can now specify all or part of a configuration value to use an environment variable setting. To specify a dynamically substituted value you specify the portion of the value you would like to replace using the syntax $[ ... ] where the ... maps to an environment variable name. Printing the legend is not envisaged on the current software version. This will be possible on the next Geogrid Viewer Version (e.g. in the Top50 Version 5)

First of all, it always take some time for our scripts to redo the image map. After a day or so, if the problem isn't fixed, its probably just a cache problem. Please see appendix A in this FAQ for more info.
