The pipe should be a minimum of 1 ?" ID when using a size 1 purge unit. The bigger the ID of the pipe the better it is for creating the proper flow.

It had always been in the back of my mind to do a piece about my parents' experience of being relocated to Concentration Camps during World War II. As American citizens of Japanese ancestry my parents were forced from their homes in Livingston, CA (Dad) and Fresno, CA (Mom) and ordered by the United States government to Concentration Camps away from the West Coast. (Dad to Granada, CO and Mom to Jerome, AR) The tricky part about doing a piece like this was how to approach it.

The first models are standard 2 inch pipe, with 4 inch models in planning. The 2" unit fits to a 4 bolt ANSI 150 flange. The instrument is rated to ANSI 300 and 4-8 bolt adapters will fit the instrument to ANSI 300 pipe systems.

DIPS stands for “Ductile Iron Pipe Size”, a sizing standard based on the outside diameter of ductile iron pipe. DIPS pipe sizes are primarily used in water systems where ductile iron pipe sizes were commonly used, and is becoming an increasingly popular sizing standard for polyethylene pipe.

DN stands for “diametre nominelle”. These sizes, in millimeters, are set by the International Standards Organization and are in use throughout the world. They roughly correlate, converting inches to millimeters, with the nominal pipe sizes commonly in use in North America.

CTS stands for “Copper Tube Size”. Polyethylene pipe is available in small diameters to match this standard, which is primarily used in the plumbing industry, as well as occasionally in natural gas applications.

We now use a universal polished aluminum mounting clamp that will fit towers from 1 7/8"- 2.5" in diameter using the supplied rubber liners. Additional rubber strips can be used for towers smaller than 1 7/8". Our customers have also used PVC piping cut in half and installed around the tower to make the tower mounting diameter larger in order for the clamps to fit properly.

You are encouraged to keep only your active image (and may be a couple more test images) under repository2:/export/orbit/image/ directory. repository2:/export/orbit/image/tmp folder is really temporary and it is provided for your convenience. You have to change both the image file names and their owners to yourself before copying to /export/orbit/images (from tmp) to claim them. The maxiumum acquisition size of a Series is 2 GB. The maximum acquisition size of a Study is 8 GB. It is difficult to predict for how many minutes TIMS can acquire for a Series or Study. This is because Study size is dependent on image resolution (i.e. 512x512, 1024x1024), frame rate (i.e. 30 frames per second, 15 frames per second), color space (monochrome or 24 bit color), and compression (none, lossy compression, lossless compression). Nonetheless, TIMS can acquire for minutes at a time.
