Garmin software can upload vector maps (i.e. those consisting of drawn lines). However, Garmin have not published the interface protocol for uploading vector maps and so this function is not supported in GPS Utility. The best you can do with GPS Utility is to create tracks which can be used as 'pseudo maps'. You can do this by digitising tracks using scanned maps - see the Help topics 'mapping' and 'digitising'. The maps are a bit crude, but it does work for some purposes.

It is impossible to upload our maps in a GPS because they are too large being raster maps and are SoftMap proprietary format, unreadable by other software. The manufacturers of the GPS receivers normally restrict the upload to their own map format and the GPS receivers have sometimes limited memory. See similar questions...

When looking through other programs, I found that some authors say "upload" when transferring towards the Garmin, others say "download" to the same transfer, and vice versa. Is this because some people put their Garmin on top of the PC (upload) and some put it below the PC (download)? The install program on disk 1 installs everything needed for all the data disks. When you ask AllTopo to display a map which is found on another disk it will prompt you to put the correct disk in your CD reader. Copy the SETUP.EXE from the first data disk to a temporary location on your fixed drive. Run SETUP from the fixed disk. In order to have Freshmap mapping on your GPS, you need a GPS that is able to take a microSD card (GPS with "x" at the end of the name), and you need Freshmap for Garmin GPS which is only available on microSD card. See similar questions...

Yes. All game servers come with maps/mods space. We have set a soft limit of 200MB, however in certain circumstances we may allow use of more space. You the customer is responsible for managing any mods/maps that you upload. Recently, an IntelliGolf customer sent us instructions on how they got Garmin's Mobile 10 GPS receiver to work with IntelliGolf. For large JPEG and GIF map images, the map must be resized to print the entire image (see below). Even after resizing, the quality and legibility of the printed map is dependent upon the quality of your printer. For quickly printing the less detailed maps, you can save the map image file to your hard drive, and then open Microsoft Word. Select Insert from the menu bar, then Picture/File.
