There are two channels which you can download the Java Application to your handset. 1. At www.hutchisonmacau.com > products and services> Java zone After you select your favorite Java application, click the "download" button to download the application to your handset. Please follow the "step by step guides" at www.hutchisonmacau.com for instructions of how to open the MMS with your handset, install the application to your handset, and start playing the application.

The client and server software need Java 1.4.2 (or higher). The servlets require the Java Servlet library which is available from Java.com in the Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE), or via downloading a servlet engine such as Apache Tomcat.

If you get an out-of-memory error (or would like to increase the amount of memory that the server can use), add the "-mx128m" argument when running java/jre. In fact, we recommend increasing the amount of memory available to Java to allow Java and the server to use up to 128 megabytes of virtual memory, if necessary. Alternatively, the config.dct file can be edited to cut down on the amount of memory used by changing the number of threads allocated for each listener.

Currently, you can only download the Java Applications via MMS. In other words, the applications will be sent to your handset via MMS only. However, as a subscriber of our GPRS data service, you are entitled to access the Hutchison MMS & Java WAP Portal and browse through our Hutchison Java Zone using the GPRS network.

No, the Java applications are handset specific. If you download the applications via www.hutchisonmacau.com, please make sure the Java applications apply to the handset model you used. It depends on the handset memory of the handset model you use. For example, if you are using a Nokia 7650 phone, You can go to "Menu -> Tools -> Manager" to check the memory consumption. For details, please refer to the individual handset user menu.

Java applications may be transferred to your phone from a computer, downloaded during WAP browsing, or sent to you in a multimedia message, as an e-mail attachment, via Bluetooth, or via infrared. If you are using PC Suite for Nokia 7650 to transfer the file, place it in the c:\nokia\installs folder in your phone for installation. Please note that charges may be imposed on data transfer via your wireless or Internet connection providers as well as by individual WAP / WEB sites.

Yes. CLDC-based applications can execute in other Java Virtual Machines, provided that the required CLDC libraries, profiles, and/or optional packages are also available.

No. There is a native sanos API. You can develop applications in C using Microsoft Visual Studio. The native sanos API resembles the standard POSIX Unix API, with functions like open(), close() etc. There is also an implementation of the ANSI Standard C library routines.
