Yes. Operation Harvest encourages sponsors to give an additional monetary Christmas gift ($25.00 annual gift recommended). In your Field Worker's nation, Operation Harvest's national leadership will use the money to buy special gifts to be given to your Field Worker and family at Christmas. You can write to your field worker as often as you like. Whether you write once or several times, your sponsored field worker will know that you care. However, keep in mind because of translation time or remote locations, it may take up to two months for your Field Worker to receive your letter.

Your support provides for the field worker’s livelihood and the supporting structure for assistance, management, reporting and training which enables him to work full-time. EE is a charter member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). EE is also a 501(c)(3), charitable organization, under the IRS code of the United States of America and is audited annually by an independent accounting firm. EE will insure that funds are properly received, tracked and managed.

Some immigrants can base their applications to enter the country on employment status. While some types of workers are in enough demand that the USCIS will admit them without a job, other types of workers may enter based on a U.S. employer's sponsorship. If an employer wants to hire a foreign national without current work authorization, the company must file a I-140 petition on behalf of that worker. All such workers require a labor certification from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Many sponsors want to correspond with their field worker, and we encourage that. In fact, once you become a sponsor of a field worker, we will send you a confirmation letter that includes materials designed to help you write your first letter to your field worker. We will mail your letter to the field worker’s national office. One of the staff will translate your letter, if necessary, and deliver the letter to your field worker.

We encourage sponsors to develop a relationship with their sponsor child. After all, this is your personal ministry to an AIDS orphan. The children are greatly encouraged to know that someone so far away loves them enough to care for them. You can send letters to Eden Children's Village, P.O. Box 166, Mhangura, Zimbabwe, Attn: Your Child's Name. If you prefer, you can e-mail your letter to our office, and it will be translated, if necessary, and given to your child.

Typically, there are multiple sponsors for each field worker since their monthly salary and work expenses are greater than one Operation Harvest sponsorship of $35 per month. The number of sponsors is set by our Board of Directors, established for each nation according to need.

We hope you will continue to sponsor your field worker for the duration of their time with Operation Harvest. We recognize that people’s circumstances change. If this happens, please notify our office so we can begin to look for a new sponsor and continue the field worker’s support without interruption.

A sponsor is someone with whom you can identify who has attained abstinence and an understanding of the FAA food plan. You must successfully complete all the theory classes (COMM 1087, CARE 1056, CARE 1057, CARE 1058, CARE 1059, CARE, 1060, CARE 1061, CARE 1062 and CARE 1063) before you can start your placement experience. In addition, you must complete a Pre-placement Passport, which includes First Aid /CPR Level C certification (This is usually scheduled during class time, but you may get credit for certification completed externally as long as it was obtained within the previous 12 months.

All PSW students must complete two field placements: an institutional practicum and a community practicum. (Please see the previous Q&A for field placement prerequisites.) Attendance at field placements is mandatory. You cannot complete the PSW program requirements until you have made up missed shifts. The institutional practicum consists of practical experience in a long-term care facility.

Always use English. Do not type in all CAPITALS and don't use the field for praising your photos ("A lovely photo!" and things like that). Instead supply as much info as you can (within reasonable limits) about the photo and the aircraft pictured. The Registration Number is important although not necessary.

Too easy: like you are talking to a friend, because that is what that Soldier is going to be to you real quick. It is also VERY helpful if you leave your full return address as part of your letter, envelopes tend to get trashed quickly.

Field Force Manager will store GPS information collected by workers for 90 days and will store any Timesheet, Job or Form data for 12 months.
