Continuous Tone Coded Sound Squelch (Also known by it's Motorola Trademarked name of "Private Line" {PL} as well as Channel Guard, Quiet Channel and others) is a low frequency tone that is transmitted along with a radio signal that allow the system users to ignore signals from other users, control repeaters, and other purposes. DPL stands for "Digital Private Line" which works the same way, but uses a digital word instead of an analog tone.

Yes. The PL tone, or other access control mechanism such as a digital code (DCS/DPL) or touch tones (DTMF) that are necessary to access the repeater are part of the coordination. They must be chosen so as not to conflict with any other repeaters that are currently coordinated. The knee cap isn't securely in place, it sometimes popped to the outside of the leg, but most times to the inside. It usually popped back into place when the cat walks. In our opinion the most important differences are the number of lamps, light wavelengths, treatment time and results... The DPL has 174 LED lamps, including 154 infrared. The LightStim has 72 lamps, including only 36 infrared. Treatment time for the whole face is nine minutes with the DPL. The recommended treatment time for the LightStim is four minutes per area, and since the diameter of the light is only 2 1/2 inches it takes about an hour to treat the whole face. CTCSS decoding is done using a search algorithm which, when the target frequency is active, tests roughly two tones per second to try and find a match. Since the BC780XLT supports 38 CTCSS tones, it can take about 19 seconds of signal activity to search for all tones on a target frequency.
