The disc (or some tracks) does not play on my home stereo CD player. What can I do?

www.copycontrolhelp.com
No. You can play the audio content using the Open MG Bundled player included on your disc; the player should automatically start once the disc is inserted in the PC. If you want to play the music on a PC without the disc, or if you want to export the tracks to a portable device, you must first install the Music Player software which is in the bin/win32 folder of your OMG disc.

I made an audio CD and it plays ok on my PC but won't play on my stereo - why?

Xorys' MP3 FAQ
You recorded it on a CD-RW disk. Most newer computer drives read these fine. Very few audio players will read them at all. You recorded the CD as a data CD or as a multi-session CD. Audio players will only read audio CDs, and even on audio CDs, they will only recognise the first "session". Computer drives, OTOH, can cheerfully read data CDs, and can read CDs recorded in multiple sessions. See similar questions...

How can I make 6 channel Windows Media audio play properly on stereo speakers?

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
WMVHD files, typically created for playback on the XBOX360, can contain a 5.1 audio stream. If you play such a file on a computer that only has two speakers then you will only hear the sound from two of the six channels. This causes for example the voices (center channel) to be almost unhearable. The solution is to downmix the 5.1 channels into 2 channels. There are two ways to do this. You can either use AC3Filter or ffdshow. In ffdshow audio decoder configuration, go to the 'Codecs' page. See similar questions...

Can I put my MP3 tunes onto audio CDs to play on my stereo, in my car etc?

Xorys' MP3 FAQ
There are programs that claim to be able to take MP3 files and decode them and burn them to an audio CD all in one operation... MP3 CD Maker is one such program. I believe Nero can also do this. I tried MP3 CD Maker, and I couldn't get it to even burn a single track successfully, and many other people seem to have had problems with it as well... but I suppose *somebody* somewhere must have got it to work. Nero I haven't tried. Decode the MP3 files to WAV files. See similar questions...

Do CD-Rs last? And can I play them on my home stereo?

EMC FAQs
We've read that they last from six months to eighty years, but the shorter duration involved storage in the sun and sandpaper - not a pretty idea. We've had no trouble so far - we've had one return which was quickly remedied (and that may have been a blank disc that crept in) and another one with a glitch that we sorted out. These CD-Rs play well on all but the oldest CD player - our home player is from the mid-1990s and they play fine. See similar questions...

Why won't my audio file play?

Java Programmer's FAQ
Java 1.1 and earlier releases use one audio format exclusively. The audio file must be in .au format, recorded at 8 KHz, mono, in mu-law encoding. If your audio clip is in a different format (e.g., .wav) or a different frequency it must be converted to the exact specifications above before Java can play it. Support for .wav and other formats is part of the Java Media Framework coming in JDK 1.2. Search at www.yahoo. See similar questions...

How do I get stereo audio?

Sky digital satellite TV digibox FAQ
Easiest way is to use a separate audio Amplifier in the lounge and connect it via one of those long phono cables that you can buy from SatCure. See Accessories catalogue. Use the RF connection just for the picture and mute the audio on the TV while you listen to the stereo sound through the amplifier. You can get a cheap stereo amp from places like Tandy (I think) or use a CD/Tape player with an "Aux" input. (I use an Amstrad SRD2000 to get Dolby Prologic surround sound from the Digibox. If I have a herniated disc, won't I need surgery?

Chronic Back Pain & Chronic Neck Pain Questions
A herniated disc is not a catastrophe. Annoying, certainly, but a condition with a favorable natural history. Many people feel that this is a serious injury that always needs an operation. In fact, over 90% of people who herniate a disc go on to uneventful recoveries without surgery and do quite well. A famous study done in 1983 compared patients with surgically treated herniated discs with similar patients treated non-operatively (Reference 1). See similar questions...

Can I play the output from my computer MP3 player through my home stereo?

Xorys' MP3 FAQ
Yeah, I have both the computers I regularly use connected to stereo systems by cables - I just bought cables from Radio Shack, with a stereo 1/8" plug on one end and two RCA jacks on the other, and I plug the cable into the "line-out" of my audio card and the "aux-in" of my equalizer / mixer. It works fine. See similar questions...

When I burn audio CDs my stereo plays them but won't skip to specific tracks - why?

Xorys' MP3 FAQ
If possible, when burning an audio CD, you should try to use the "disk at once" option, if your CD burner software has it and your hardware supports it - "disk at once" causes the CD to be burned all in one continuous pass without ever stopping the laser, whereas otherwise the laser is turned off after each track and then started again for the next track - this starting and stopping of the laser causes slight discontinuities between the tracks, and whilst this generally shoul. Why won't my audio CD play in my CD player?

Ondine Computing - FastEZ CD and DVD Maker
There is a substantial difference between CD-ROM discs and CD-R or CD-RW discs. Because of this, there must be differences in the drives used to read these different types of media. Most currently available CD players are capable of reading CD-R and CD-RW discs, but some older models were only designed for use with commercially produced CD-ROM discs. It may be possible to play some brands of CD-R discs in these older players, but we cannot guarantee success. See similar questions...
