Version 1.0 of the driver should be uninstalled from the same CD used to install it. Insert the CD and search on it for a folder named "Uninstall." Open the folder and double-click on the file named DRemover.exe. Follow the instructions as prompted. For Window? 98, NT, 2000 & ME these conversion cables usually require that an software program (included with the cable) be installed on the PC in order for the computer to recognize the cable. The best answer to this is a firm "maybe". DOS device drivers are available for most USB and Firewire controllers. If such drivers are added to a DOS boot diskette so that your USB or Firewire drive is "seen" by DOS, SpinRite will also be able to "see" and operate with it. However, the performance of the drive through the DOS drivers and the serial (USB/Firewire) cable will likely be far lower than if the external drive were connected directly to a PC's motherboard controller.
