How late in the fall can I plant my order?

When is it too late to plant new roses?

Houston Rose Society Merchant Discounts
Answer: A rose purchased in a plastic pot already has a nicely established root system. You can plant such a rose at any time before winter, so long as you are careful to not knock off the soil from the roots. Of course, spring is the usual time to plant new rose, and the selection is best at that time. But you can plant a potted rose in summer so long as you give it extra water. See similar questions...

How do I plant those tiny little Bermuda grass seeds?

Oklahoma Cooperative OSU Extension FAQ
The best way would be to plant it with a specialized seeder that can handle small seed. One brand is a Brillion seeder that drops the seed and a set of packer wheels push it into contact with the soil. If a seeder is un-available, scattering the seed with a three point whirly bird seeder can be effective. Start with the gate on the seeder closed as tightly as it will go and still allow seed to come out. Test it on a few acres and adjust it open if enough seed is not being applied. Why plant a grass on my golf course that goes dormant in cold weather?

Zoysia Golf Workshop - Zenith Zoysia Fairways, Tees and Roug...
All warm season grasses go dormant in late fall through early spring – the further north the longer the dormancy period. Remember that most play occurs in spring summer and fall – when zoysiagrasses can provide a far superior playing surface while not requiring the heavy watering (muddy conditions) frequent mowing and restricted access of cool season grasses. In a nut shell this grass is green when you need it to be green and when dormant maintenance costs go almost to $0.00. See similar questions...

Can I seed in late fall or winter so grass will automatically grow in the spring?

Albuquerque New Mexico Landscape Design Architects and Hards...
Dormant seeding is fine; however, seed should be planted so there is good seed to soil contact. In the event we get early snow, do not plant the seed over the snow. In warmer regions seeding is better done in the spring. See similar questions...

Should I plow up my Native grass stand and plant an improved pasture grass like Bermuda or fescue?

Oklahoma Cooperative OSU Extension FAQ
Probably not, since native grass in good condition needs little or no management inputs, there is no cheaper way to put forage in an animal if you have plenty of acres. On the other hand, if you have few acres, and must raise a large number of animals on a small acreage, then an introduced grass might fit you better. See similar questions...

We’d like to but it is very difficult to do without specimens; verbal descriptions rarely suffice. If the identification is important to you consult your local library, especially a college or university library, for references used to identify the native or horticultural plants of your area.
