Oil-based and acrylic paints cannot be mixed. Acrylic paints are water-based. There is a new type of paint out now, called alkyd paint. Although it is water-based, alkyd paint can be used with oil paints. You can never paint in acrylic over a painting previously done in oil paint. You can, however, paint with oil paint over an acrylic painting.

We recommend that you stay with only one brand of products such as Medifast. Each product line is developed to maximize the nutrient levels your body requires. The addition of ceramics to your paint will thicken it slightly and you may have to add a little water ( up to 1 pint ) to bring the paint back to a useable consistency. There are times when you might want a solid black for a specific effect, but on the whole I prefer to mix blacks for livelier color. Neutral tube colors, such as Lamp Black and Ivory Black, seem very dull, especially next to high intensity hues in a painting.
