HOW DO I APPLY GROUT?

Welcome to Pacilantic.com
Use only standard grade sanded grout mixed per instructions. Apply grout with a rubber float, forcing grout into joints until full. (It is recommended to brush off the grout a little from bubble or pebble glass in order to show the beauty of the special shape.) Do not level the grout with pebble glass or bubble glass so the shape of the pebble or bubble won’t be covered by grout. Use soft brush lower 1/3 of the grout while the grout still semi wet. The grout will take longer to set. See similar questions...

Can I paint over grout?

TCNA - Technical Services: FAQ
Changing grout color is more commonly done but again the results are generally not as good as the original item. The color in grout, unlike tile, comes from liquid dispersed pigments. Obviously, these are not fired but rather become part of the cement/sand matrix. Grout is usually colored with an epoxy paint made for the purpose and sold in tile shops. See similar questions...

How do I clean grout?

TCNA - Technical Services: FAQ
Cementitious grout, as you may have observed, is porous - it can absorb a stain. Looked at under a microscope, there is a large surface area to absorb stains. For this reason, many owners choose to seal their grout … usually the better the sealer, the more the grout joint is protected. Even better, if epoxy grout is used, it is virtually as stain proof as the tile. Removing stains from cementitious grout is similar to removing stains from clothing. See similar questions...

This will allow the customer time to clean-up spills, before they penetrate and stain the grout. Unfortunately, sealer does lose it's effectiveness to protect the staining of the grout. What is the difference between caulk and grout?

Frequently Asked Questions
Grout is used to fill the spaces between ceramic tiles. When dry it has the texture and character of cement. It should only be used between products of the same type, usually ceramic or stone tile. It should not be used at the seam between tile and any other product, especially wood or wallboard. Products respond to heat, cold and humidity in different ways and grout is not flexible and will crack and fall away as different pressures are exerted by the different products it is attached to.
