The Spiders From Mars were David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust's three-piece rock band from 1971 to mid 1973, however they were only officially known by this name following the album's release in June 1972. Bowie has said that the inspiration for the name came when he was writing the song "Ziggy Stardust". The band consisted of: quot;It was Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and somehow, along the lines, the Spiders got attached to David Bowie.

Several ideas have been put forth regarding Martian clocks. Since a Martian sol is only three percent longer than an Earth day, the most straightforward approach is to simply stretch Earth's units of time into slightly longer hours, minutes, and seconds (this system is used by NASA and JPL). Another approach is to add 39 minutes, 35.2 seconds at the end of 24 hours. Still another idea is to have a "metric" clock based on powers of ten.

Seasons are caused by the inclination of a planet's rotational axis relative to the plane of its orbit around the sun. Earth's axis is inclined 23.5 degrees. On the first day of summer in the northern hemisphere, Earth's north pole is tilted 23.5 degrees toward the sun, so the northern hemisphere receives more sunlight. Half a year later, on the first day of winter, Earth's north pole is tilted away from the sun, so the northern hemisphere receives less sunlight.

Mars documents, like PDF documents, can be displayed within a viewer application. When viewed, Mars documents have similar appearance and behavior as a PDF document with similar content. Other than having a different file suffix, an end user would not see any difference between a Mars document and a PDF document. However, if you look under the hood, a document created in the Mars format will appear different, containing XML components that enable some exciting enterprise use cases.

Mars is the code name for a project developing an XML-based representation of PDF documents. XML, Extensible Markup Language, is a cross-platform, extensible, and text-based standard for representing data of all kinds. PDF, Portable Document Format, is the global standard to reliably view, print, and share documentation over the web and with other people, regardless of a computer's operating system. PDF preserves all of the fonts, formatting, colors, and graphics of any source document.

We produce programs that we distribute on audio-cassette or compact disc. The main production is the MARS HILL AUDIO Journal, a 90-minute, bi-monthly "audio magazine" that we sell by subscription. Each 90-minute issue features 5 to 8 interviews dealing with a wide range of subjects, such as history, the visual arts, music, economics, literature, science, technology, and politics. The main MARS node receives 10 kilowatts (kW) of power from shore at 10,000 volts. The node converts this to 375 volts DC (VDC) and 48 VDC for science use. A total of 9 kW can be distributed as needed to the eight science ports. Up to 1 kW of the 9 kW total can be distributed to the 8 science ports at 48 VDC.

The information in a Mars document is organized similar to a PDF document. Mars represents document information by combining standard XML, images, fonts, and color formats within a Zip-based package. Page content is represented in SVG. In Mars, the pages, images, fonts, bookmarks, and other document components appear as separate files within the Zip package. The Mars components such as bookmarks are easier to manipulate by virtue of their XML representation.

Texe Marrs, Pat Robertson and Jack T. Chick say that the Illuminati did. The Illuminati hasn't said. Brian Desborough is convinced that white Martians built the pyramids on Mars and then later conquered Earth. Richard C. Hoagland has written much on the face on Mars and an area called Cydonia [Monuments On Mars California: North Atlantic Books, 1996].

The NexStar 114 comes with a 25mm eyepiece and a 10mm eyepiece, which give you 40x and 100x respectively. To get better planetary images, you need to use an optional eyepiece of a shorter focal length. This scope is capable of using an eyepiece down to 3.

SVG is an abbreviation for Scalable Vector Graphics, an XML-based, W3C standard language for describing graphics. Many applications and tools can create or manipulate SVG page contents. SVG page content can also be converted to PDF graphic operators using Acrobat 8.0 Professional and the Mars plug-in.

A5. Conventional regression models typically fit straight lines to data. Although this usually oversimplifies the data structure, the approximation is sometimes good enough for practical purposes. However, in the frequent situations in which a straight line is inappropriate, an expert modeler must search tediously for transformations to find the right curve.

A6. MARS starts from the premise that most relevant variables affect the outcome in a complex way. Therefore, when MARS considers whether to add a variable to a model it simultaneously searches for appropriate break points (known as ?knots?). Models are constructed in a two-phase procedure. Phase I is a fast search that tests all database fields and potential break points, resulting in a deliberately overfit model.

A8. MARS deals with the problem of missing values in regression in an entirely new way. First, MARS develops the best model possible using the available data. In addition, for each variable with missing values, MARS develops a sub-model based on substitute variables. This sub-model may be based on a single surrogate or on a complex function of several surrogates.
