Email sent to your address is stored on a mail server until you retrieve it using email software (Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Eudora, etc.) or delete it using WebMail.

To better manage our server space; GroupWise maintains a 181 expire\reduce mail retention policy, with 730 days for calendar items. All mail older than 181 days is subject to deletion after this time. This pertains to ALL mail in the account, not just the inbox. Moving mail into the cabinet or predefine folders will not protect the items from the retention policy. If you must keep mail older than 181 days, archiving it recommended.
