SDI is Scuba Diving International. TDI (Time Delay Integration) is a method for increasing signal when there is fast relative motion between the camera and the object being imaged. Volkswagen claims that the V-10 TDI Touareg will get 28.8 MPG "extra-urban" and 23.2 MPG "combined" according to UK figures. owner of a V-10 TDI Touareg in Florida reports a running average of 19.7 MPG in mixed driving and 28.5 MPG at a constant 50 MPH.

If you are a corporate officer and you (or you and your spouse) are the sole stockholder(s) of your corporation, you may be able to exclude yourself from SDI by sending a completed Sole Shareholder/Corporate Officer Exclusion Statement (DE 459) to EDD. The exemption becomes effective the first day of the quarter in which it is filed. You may get a DE 459 by calling (888) 745-3886, ordering it online, or downloading it.

Other than those excluded (refer to section 392-5 of the law for exclusions), all employers are required to provide TDI, or sick leave benefits, when their eligible employees are unable to work because of a nonwork-related illness or injury. The State does not pay TDI benefits; instead, it makes sure every employer covered by the law provides benefits to the eligible employees.

Although Volkswagen's web site does not make reference to a V-10 TDI Touareg being available in North America, at least one person has purchased a V-10 in Florida. It appears that the V-10 is currently available for sale in North America at this time.

Many people carry preconceived notions about the "problems" of running a diesel car: they are slow, difficult to start, smelly, produce lots of black soot and smoke, that the soot coats the car with grime, the engines are too loud, or that diesel fuel is too difficult to find/too expensive. SDI scores are charted on a triangle because there are three scales that comprise the SDI. A triangle is needed to depict the intersection of those three scales, and thus provide a visual representation of an individual's MVS and conflict sequence.
