The law allows for a probation officer to decide not to file a formal petition and proceed informally with a plan of supervision for a minor for a period of no more than six months. Even if a formal petition has been filed, the court can return the matter to the probation department for informal probation and discharge the formal petition. Most are required to pay restitution, court costs, fine and fees, as well as work a number of hours doing unpaid community service. The purpose of an informal conference is to reach an agreement on the amount you will be paid if you have any permanent disability or loss of use as a result of an on-the job accident. Informal Courses are available to students 18 years of age or older. Due to liability issues, we are unable to offer these courses to students younger than 18 years of age. Most courses have no prerequisites. Should a course require experience in a certain field or enrollment in a previous class, this will be clearly marked in the course catalog.

An Informal Hearing is an opportunity for a taxpayer to question or appeal a property value or classification. Normally taxpayers would choose an Equalization Appeal because the property value is appealed before any tax payment is due.
