If the ninth grade is high school in your district, you should apply using the High School RFA when it is released. If the ninth grade is junior high/middle school in your district, you should apply using the Elementary and Junior High/Middle School RFA.

I advise you to take as much math as you can. Having high school calculus under your belt will make your first physics classes much easier. The prompts are similar, but the expectations for student responses differ. Ninth grade responses will demonstrate a more advanced understanding of expository writing.
