The View Menu option "Fit images to desktop" is activated (or a similar view option), please uncheck and use the recommended display option.

The load option for JPGs "Load as grayscale" in 'Properties->JPG/PCD/GIF' is activated, please uncheck!

There are 2 possibilities, first: your INI (i_view32.ini) file (or whole IrfanView folder) is set to read-only, please change that; second: some "smart" washer/restore tools/plugins are washing too much, please exclude IrfanView files/folder from such actions. Bug report: The Add button in the slideshow/batch dialog won't add the selected file to the file list. There is a Windows Explorer "feature": Hide file extensions for known file types.

Probably an old anti virus program or another background software is running, which causes such problems. Check your system.

If you have not read How to Report Bugs Effectively, please take a few minutes to do so. (Important: do not send bug reports about PhysioNet to the author of How to Report Bugs Effectively; he is an innocent bystander.) Bug reports should provide enough specific information to permit duplicating your problem.

WinImages is an aspect-correct program. It reads the DPI (dots-per-inch) settings from an image file and uses them to set the ratio of width to height for display. Some programs do not set these values in the image file correctly, and as a result, the image will appear distorted. The solution is to select "Change Image Info" from the menus and edit the DPI setting. If you want the change to be permanent, you'll need to re-save the image.

Please double check your resolution. Make sure they are either 1280x720 at 60 hertz refresh rate or 1680x1050 at 60 hertz refresh rate. To change resolution in MS Windows series, right click on your wallpaper with no icon selected. Select the option PROPERTIES. A window should pop up. Select the tab SETTINGS. In there should be a slide where you change the resolution or screen area.

First of all, please check if a bug has not already been reported on the normal forums, on the test team forum or at the bugtracker. If your bug is not reported there, please read the bug template thoroughly and post your bug to the bug section on the normal forums or, even better, to the test team forum. Posting to the test team forum ensures that the test team will try to reproduce your bug and hand the necessary information over to the developers to fix it.

We follow a comprehensive bug-identification/correction protocol. We assess the problem and assign status based on a 3-point priority scale. All urgent bug-correction issues are considered priority-1, and are addressed immediately.

The best things about irfanview are that it is cheap and that it is fast. It's not a great image editing program. I have it set to be my default jpeg application because it starts up very quickly and lets me move through a directory very quickly. When in full screen mode, you can hit the space bar to move forward. You can also use the left and right mouse buttons to move back and forwards (or page-up and page-down). Hit escape to leave full-screen mode.

If your image is not the maximum size for the gallery page your thumbnail may be distorted. This exaggeration is most noticeable in vertical images. If you want to avoid the distortion please make a box in Photoshop that is 447 pixels wide and 350 pixels high that is white. Then save this newly generated file as the file for the registry. This will help ease any distortion that may occur.

ADB) A bug differs very slightly from an oops, actually. An oops is when the kernel detects that something has gone wrong. A bug is when something (in the kernel, presumably) doesn't behave the way it should, either with a driver or in some kernel algorithm. If you can detect this misbehaviour, you may or may not be getting an oops. Perhaps the most important step is to determine under which conditions this misbehaviour can be triggered, and whether it is reproducible.

ADB) Does it affect system security? Is it related to a specific driver/hardware configuration? Did you manage to identify the piece(s) of kernel code concerned? It really depends on the kind of bug you found. TYT) Please follow general good bug reporting guidelines: remember, the developers don't have access to your system, and they're not mind readers. Tell us which kernel version, and what your hardware is (if you're not sure, more detail is better than less).
