Many countries have a visa waiver arrangement with Japan, allowing you to visit for a certain period (usually, 3 or 6 months) without any visa at all. A list of countries is available on the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. In addition, you can study with us for up to three months (in some cases, six months) on a standard tourist visa. It is possible to renew tourist visas, either from within Japan, or by visiting Korea (a short boat ride away).

Most foreign students will need a Study Permit to study in Canada. However If you wish to study a short-term course or program with a duration of six months or less you do not need a Study Permit. You must complete the course or program within the period authorized for your stay in Canada. Students from the following countries will require a Temporary Resident Visa to enter Canada. To travel to Canada you do require a passport but do not require a visa for visits less than three months. As a visitor to Canada, you can stay in the country for up to 6 months per visit.
