It is not possible to convert DSS directly into MP3 Format. But if you convert DSS file in Wave then you can use any conventional software to convert the Wave file into MP3.

One of the most easy ways to do that is to use WinAMP. The Plugin that writes WAV-files under WinAMP is called DiskWriterPlugin. When it is activated, the song you play back is not played back as sound - but written to the path on your Harddiskdrive (HDD) that you specified - as a WAV file. Leftclick onto the WinAMP surface.

Digital Speech Standard (DSS) is a proprietary audio compression format jointly developed by Olympus, Philips, and Grundig. DSS compresses files approximately 12 times, so it is an ideal format for transferring files by e-mail. Windows Media Audio (.wma) produces a better sound in a smaller file size but mp3 is more universal, especially in some portable players. When you use the "original" profile provided by JaxHub, you need to make sure that the coding parameters are supported by the output media type.
