What about grow lights?

Wheatgrass Information from Grow Wheatgrass
I am now selling the best full spectrum light bulbs on the market. You can grow in the dark with 3 of these lights or you can just use one in a goose-neck floor lamp or clip-on fixture for supplemental lighting in the fall and winter months. The grass grows fastest if it has 14 hours of light so you have to add light in the winter. Please believe me, you do not need light at every level. The light would be too close to encourage growth.

How do you compare to Ruby on Rails?

Restlet - General FAQ
It is always hard to make fair comparisons, especially when you are from one side and when you don't have an intimate knowledge of the other side. Our general feeling is that Rails was not built with REST principles at its core. Those principles were rather retrofitted in version 1.2. Also, the new support for REST comes with many constraints on the database schema and on the URI namespace. See similar questions...

How/Where do you grow your Orchids, do you have a greenhouse, do you grow under lights?

Information - Frequently Asked Questions and Tips regarding ...
I actually raise my Paphs on tables with humidity trays along an expansive run of windows (they're almost like a greenhouse) which have semi-shaded southern exposure which I'm told is too much light. However, I have not had problems with "sunburn". The Phrags (with the exception of the terrestrial caudatum types) are grown in trays which collect the irrigation water and allow the Phrags to "soak" for a day or two before the water evaporates; THEY LOVE THIS. How does Wattage relate to light output?

Frequently Asked Questions - Arevco Lighting
Wattage is a measurement of the electricity usage of a bulb. Lumens is a measurent of the total light output of a bulb. The efficiency of a bulb is calculated by comparing the light output to the energy usage. The efficiency of a bulb is similar for light bulbs of the same type, so you can expect that by switching from a 100W to a 150W regular incandescent bulb that you will get about 50% more light. If I want to grow under fluorescent lights, how do I set them up, and what bulbs can I use?

PAPHIOPEDILUM: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Under a two 40 watt bulb fluorescent light set up with standard bulbs, you will want to get the plants leaves within a few inches of the bulbs. We prefer C50 (5000K) bulbs, but you will probably be able to do fine with almost any of the commonly available bulbs. See similar questions...

Can adding more LEDs increase the light output?

Innovationhouse.com - Nightstar Frequently ASked Questions
The ETS Cell within NightStar can power more than one LED, and with each LED added, the light output will increase. However, power consumption will also increase with each LED added to the system. Consequently, the duration of light output obtained from a fully charged capacitor will diminish, thereby requiring NightStar to be shaken more frequently. Adding more LEDs will also increase the cost of the device. See similar questions...

WHAT DOES ANSI LUMEN MEAN?

Pressure Funk - Audio Visual FAQ
Lumens refers to the measurement of brightness at the screen. This measurement is very vague as it does not take factors like screen size, projection lens, projector settings and aperture size into account. This is the brightness measurement initially used for overhead projectors. ANSI Lumens is a standard, laid down by the American National Standards Institution, to objectively measure the brightness of the image that a projector can project. See similar questions...

Who owns which street lights and who should I call when a light is out?

City of Reading, Pennsylvania - Codes - Frequently Asked Que...
Street lights on wooden poles are owned by MetEd, while those on metal poles are owned by the City. All street light complaints should go to 610-655-6128. We will forward any complaints regarding MetEd facilities to them. The complaint should include an address and a pole number if there is one. The pole number generally is on two yellow tags attached to the pole. See similar questions...

What does the Light Cool Kit do for my lights and how does it work?

GreenCoast Hydroponics - FAQ
The Light Cool Kit forRadiant Lighting Systems will reduce your heat by about 3-7 degrees. The kit includes vent flanges and a cover which you attach to the sides of the reflector. By including a fan and some ducting you are able to remove some of the heat from the light. See similar questions...

What is a Lumen?

hydroponics FAQ : Canadian Wholesale Hydroponics. 1 (877) 22...
A lumen is a measurement of light. In simpler terms one lumen is equal to the amount of light that 1 candle will emit on 1 square foot, 1 foot away from the flame. 1 lumen = 1 foot candle See similar questions...

How does LED light compare to Halogen light?

DiNotte Lighting :: Frequently-Asked Questions
LED light is much whiter and the beam pattern is much more consistent. As a result, the 5 Watt Ultralight will produce light nearly comparable to a 15W Halogen with better light color and beam. You'll enjoy much longer battery life and a much smaller battery. See similar questions...

Q: How does your software compare with that "Red Light, Green Light" software?

DecisionBar - Stock Trading Software, Swing Trade, Emini Day...
A: Well, of course, we think our software is superior. The software you're referring to is a trend following system that costs about $4,000. It uses red and green lights and some kind of momentum chart to tell you when to trade. The DecisionBar software, on the other hand, is multi-faceted. It looks for trends, breakouts, and reversals and costs much less. DecisionBar trading signals are unambiguous and posted in real time. Once a signal is posted on the chart, it stays on the chart. Can light output be made brighter by replacing the LED with an incandescent bulb?

Innovationhouse.com - Nightstar Frequently ASked Questions
An incandescent bulb is highly inefficient and requires 10 times more energy than an LED. The capacitor in NightStar can only power a filament light bulb for a few seconds. By comparison, the energy stored in a battery is great enough to power inefficient devices for several hours. However, when a battery's energy is depleted, it either has to be discarded or recharged. Rechargeable batteries require external and often costly charging devices. See similar questions...

Can a larger capacitor be used to increase the time of useful light output?

Innovationhouse.com - Nightstar Frequently ASked Questions
Several capacitors were studied during the development of NightStar. NightStar currently uses a 1-Farad, 5.5V capacitor. A capacitor with an energy storage capability 3 times greater than this is also available (3.3-Farad, 5.5V). However, it would require 3 times longer to fully charge this capacitor. The 3.3. farad capacitor is also larger and would increase the size of the flashlight. See similar questions...

Can batteries be included in the design to allow for a longer, brighter light output?

Innovationhouse.com - Nightstar Frequently ASked Questions
A battery will power the LED in NightStar for several hours at its' maximum light output (the same light output obtained when the capacitor is fully charged and the light is first turned on). Additionally, the ETS Cell in NightStar can be used to charge a battery as well as a capacitor. However, the energy storage capability of a battery is many times greater than the capacitor used in NightStar. Consequently, it would require thousands of shakes to recharge a battery using an ETS Cell. See similar questions...

Why aren't grow lights used?

Klima-Gro | FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Research at Cornell and other universities has proven that most special "grow lights" do not affect plant growth appreciably. This type of lamp usually costs two or three times more, yet lasts about half as long, making them considerably more expensive. Each Klima-Gro is equipped with GE's most advanced lighting technology. SP30 fluorescent lamps produce excellent color, outstanding lumen maintenance, unsurpassed light output and GE's longest lamp life. See similar questions...

What is color temperature, and how does it indicate to the color of the light output from a lamp?

FAQs: Lighting Education and Terminology: GE Commercial Ligh...
Color temperature (or correlated color temperature, CCT) is a number indicating the degree of yellowness or blueness of a white light source. Measured in kelvins, CCT represents the temperature an incandescent object (like a filament) must reach to mimic the color of the lamp. See similar questions...

How does hair grow?

Electrolysis Frequently Asked Questions, affordable hair rem...
Hair grows in cycles. Not all hair on our bodies is visible at any given time. Your hair growth cycles are unique to you, as well as to different areas of the body being treated. There are three distinct phases of hair growth: 1) active growth, 2) a brief dormant period, and 3) a resting period. When a hair follicle is in the growth phase, it can be seen. Eventually the hair although still visible, detaches from the root and will fall out. Then the cycle begins again. See similar questions...

How do I add a headphone output to the Ruby or Little Gem?

runoffgroove.com FAQ
You'll need either an 1/8" or 1/4" (depending on the size of the headphones plug) closed-tip, open ring stereo jack. Follow the schematic shown below for the main speaker to be silenced when the headphones are plugged into the circuit. The 10 ohm resistance between the headphone jack sleeve and ground will reduce the headphone output level. However, the headphone jack must be insulated from the enclosure by using non-conductive washers (thanks to Peter Snowberg for this tip!) See similar questions...
