What is the Enterocele and what can be done about it?

The Women's Surgery Center of Chattanooga, TN
Vagina is a tubular like structure surrounded and supported by the tough fibromuscular connective tissue (endopelvic fascia) and inside the vagina it is coated with layers of linning of vagina (vaginal mucosa). Endopelvic fascia is a very strong fascial sheath, bio-machanically, it does not stretch well and it will break if under prolonged chronic pressure. On the other hand, vaginal mucosa can be stretched endlessly without tearing under pressure.
