Opticom has purchased and does provide the rental of Brochure boxes for any agent that requests one. Opticom also stores, maintains, installs and removes boxes that are owned and provided by individual agents. If you wish to hang your own box, please do not mark either of the boxes on the order form.

Opticom's office hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. Employees are available for accepting orders, phone calls and faxes during those hours. Casting directors are paid by the producer and usually work on a set fee basis. Their goal is to find the appropriate actor for your needs. Talent agents are paid by the talent themselves and usually work on a commission basis. Their goal is to find work for their actors. Casting directors have many more resources when looking for suitable talent, including relationships with Talent Agents.

The short answer is that a licensing agent typically represents the property owner. On the other hand, a consultant is usually associated with a manufacturer seeking and acquiring licenses. Some firms act as both agent and consultant. GCI represents manufacturers and also provides consulting services to the licensing community but we do not act as agents. JR: A casting director is not an agent. A talent agent represents talent and a CD strictly auditions talent. No money changes hands between a CD and talent. There is no agency relationship between talent and casting directors. If I bring you in for an audition and you book the audition I don't see any money from you. I am paid by the person generating the project who hires me . If you have an agent, your agent takes a percentage of what you do and that's your deal with them.

The services provided by agents and managers are similar and will vary according to each individual. Generally speaking, agents focus their time more on selling completed scripts while managers also invest a significant amount of time in developing the writers' skills by helping them rewrite their scripts as needed.
