No. There have been circumstances when a student who started the program had to withdraw for medical and/or other unavoidable and significant personal reasons and was allowed to re-enter the program the following year. Students who accept a position in the program are expected to start the program the same year.

No, you cannot defer your admission to the UW. Due to the highly competitive nature of international admission, we are unable to postpone or defer an offer of admission. Your offer of admission is only valid for the quarter for which you applied. If you are unable to attend the UW at this time but would like to enroll for a future quarter, you must file a new application with the Office of Admissions by the next available application closing date.
We do not automatically defer admission, however you should contact Betsy Kacizak, Director of MBA Admissions to discuss defer options. Otherwise if you wish to be considered for a future term, we will require you to re-apply to the MBA program. Yes, you may defer admission for up to one year from the term you submit your application for admission. If you choose to defer admission, you are not eligible to continue studies at another college or university. There are no exceptions to this policy. If you pursue this option, you must submit your $500 enrollment deposit prior to your deposit deadline.
You must go to the SHRP website and download the Admission Deferment Request form and submit to Enrollment Services. Enrollment Services will then contact your Program Director for approval. If the deferment is approved, you will receive another acceptance letter for the appropriate term. Students can only defer for 1 year from the term they were accepted to. All admissions forms can be found online.
