A film production background is preferable for admission to the graduate film program. While academic background is important, our Admissions Committee focuses on the quality of the visual portfolio and Thesis Project abstract.

Gone Off Deep began pre-production in May of 2002, shooting the first footage at Burning Man '02. To date, the producers have captured over 100 hours of footage of the event itself, along with interviews with senior staff members, organizational meetings and the works-in-progress of Burning Man artists.

Continually scripts are evaluated as potential Cavalier Films projects. Several projects are usually in various stages of consideration and when they are ready to bloom into production, the intense work of gearing up for filming and bringing a film to the world begins. Considering this, we are always in production, sometimes in the very early stages without a set target for filming, and sometimes completely focused on bringing a loved project to life.

A Stock suit is a suit that is one of our standard sizes and colors and is usually in inventory ready to ship. For example, a men’s stock large TLS350 has a black body with black overlay and royal blue piping, and can be shipping in about a day. A Select suit is a suit that is one of our stock sizes and the diver wants a custom color, a boot style or size change and/or neoprene seals. The Select Series are also available in short and tall versions of our stock sizes.

Television Films High-end productions often use the new digital videotape formats, which, when used with digital switchers and edit controllers, are capable of being dubbed many times, without sustaining any significant 'generation loss' of picture or sound quality (what loss occurs is a result of the compression and decompression of the image as it goes through the various stages of production). These formats include: D1, D2, D3, and Digital Beta.

The provision of meals alone can mean expenditures of several thousand dollars a day. Film production also helps the province's tourism industry and can serve as a great travelogue for communities by exposing audiences to new and unfamiliar locales.

Hand film is used with manual stretch wrappers which use the power of the operator. The operator stretches the film using breaking handle on the wrapper while walking around the pallet. Hand wrapping is typically designed for those who unitize less than 10 pallets per day, have decentralized warehousing or need a backup to powered stretch equipment. Machine Film is used with powered stretch equipment. There are several different types of powered stretch equipment available today.
