Teens are welcome to join the Teen Hangout as long as they submit to our parental permission process. This involves a phone call from an Administrator or Moderator to speak to the Teen and a Parent. Upon approval Teens will have access to the Teen Hangout and the Interactive Book Stack areas of the Library. At this time, due to COPPA regulations we've decided to hold off on opening the Kids forums.

The Academy offers a wide range of Youth Programs including Summer Arts Workshops for both kids (6-11) and teens (12-17), free Teen Art Studios every Friday night, quarterly classes for teens and off-site arts enrichment classes for budding artists of all ages. They stay involved and motivated for many reasons, including character and leadership development, learning new skills, career preparation, connecting with new people and building deeper relationships and commitments to their communities! Young people want to be involved in decisions that impact their lives.

Sparky's Krew Club ? for energetic 5-11 year olds has some fantastic fun & games for the kids to join in with. The Mix ? for 12-16 year olds is a place to hang out, chill, meet people and get up to some pretty cool stuff along the way. These clubs are not child-minding facilities and children are not always supervised on playgrounds, etc.

Not at this time. Children present their own joys, but also their own challenges. Our trips are geared for adults, some of whom prefer time away from their own, and indeed other peoples' children. We will be planning a parent/child trip in the future however.

Even though I call this an "adult" hiking group, you don't have to be over 18 to participate in our hikes. Everyone is welcome, whether you plan to come with your parent, a guardian, sibling, friend, or solo. If you are interested in joining us for hiking, and don't mind hanging out with adults of all different ages, by all means, welcome to the group! I can't guarantee you'll always find others your age on our hikes to hang out with, but you are always welcome to bring friends along.

Klee Kai love kids and do great with them as long as the child has been taught to respect the dog and not tease it. These dogs are small enough that an out of control child could cause serious damage. Most Klee Kai would give a child enough leeway that the child could cause serious damage before the dog could run.
