Chronograph is basically a stop watch. Most chronograph watches have two pushers and one crown, with the crown in the middle. The pushers and the crown are generally found on the right side of the watch. One push on the top pusher initiates the chronograph. A second push stops it. And a final push on the bottom pusher resets the chronograph.

Pull the crown out to it's farthest position - on some models it will need to be unscrewed in an anti-clockwise direction first. Press the top button to set the large second hand, the lower button to adjust the small chronograph dial. Once set, return the crown to it's normal position, screwing back in if necessary to retain water resistance.

Press both the buttons simultaneously and release - the second hand should perform a short (roughly 10 second) sweep. Press the top button to adjust the large second hand, use the lower button to adjust the the small chronograph dial. Once both are in the desired position, press both buttons once more to set (the second hand will perform a short sweep again). MATLAB wasn't designed to be used this way. But, if you don't reference any variables between your calls to 'dbup' and 'dbdown' (i.e., you just use 'save', 'who', 'dir', etc), it should work. Otherwise, you may well run into problems. If you 'dbup' while in a function, you change the workspace context while continuing execution of the original function.
