The Dice Feature is mainly used for Quidditch. We prefer that it not be used in the average thread unless it serves an obvious function. The way to roll the dice in a thread is to type: :dice 1d6:, where 1 is the amount of dice rolled and 6 is the amount of sides on each dice.
