How can I use Matlab's import feature to read signal files?

Frequently Asked Questions about PhysioNet
You can't in general, because Matlab doesn't know how to figure out which of the many supported formats is used in any given signal file, because it can't understand the most commonly used formats in any case, and because (in many cases) signal files are orders of magnitude larger than any matrix that Matlab can handle. See How can I read signal files? for a variety of ways to read signal files from Matlab without using its import feature.

Can I play DSS audio files from my digital voice recorder?

inqscribe:faq [Inquirium Knowledge Base]
No. We would love to support DSS, but it is a proprietary format owned by Olympus, and they don’t seem interested in letting third party developers do much with the format. Your best bet is to convert your DSS files to WAV files. Olympus has a FAQ explaining how to do this using their DSS Player software. InqScribe handles WAV files just fine.

What software do you use to print music?

Renaissance Street Singers: Frequently Asked Questions
It's my own; I wrote it in Microsoft Basic and am slowly converting it to Visual Basic. I used to transcribe music by hand, but when I got my first PC in 1986 I immediately started working on a program to print music. It has grown over the years to a suite of programs to not only print music but also transpose it, play it and export MIDI files. It prints the music to look pretty much the way I would have done it by hand if I could be perfectly neat.

What software do you use to enter the music into the computer?

Music from James Gilbert: FAQ
We use the Finale music notation software exclusively to typeset all of our music. It is also used in the compositional/arranging process. While there are other similar programs available, even though the claim to be easier to use, they are actually harder to use - in the long run - or slower to use and do not produce the same quality results as Finale does. We use the full Adobe Acrobat program to create PDF files from Finale. For MusicPad files, we create them directly from Finale.

My old logbook program use dBase files (.DBF). Can I import them to VQLog ?
