The publisher of the book must first grant the right to burn to CD. You can find the Digital Rights Information after you click on a book title, at the bottom of a book's description. In the OverDrive Media Console, highlight the desired book and click Transfer/Burn. Windows Media Console will open. Next steps depend on which version of Windows Media Console you are using. Select which part or parts to transfer, then click on Copy to CD or Device or Start Burn.

The first time you use the OverDrive Media Console, you must upgrade the security of your Windows Media Player (must be Series 9 or higher). After you click on Download, the OverDrive Media Console will open. Specify a download location (or accept the default file path) and click on OK. This has not been tested very well, so caveat emptor. It is possible to use cdda2wav and cdrecord with pipes, but there are several issues. The cd drive may become too slow to keep cdrecords buffer happy, when a scratch on the audio cd is encountered, and several retries take place. However... if the *sampling* rate of your MP3 files is something other than 44.1 KHz, you *will* need to resample the files before they can be burned to CD. The sampling rate is quite distinct from the bitrate... it is essentially the number of times per second a sound sample was captured as part of the original recording process. If possible, when burning an audio CD, you should try to use the "disk at once" option, if your CD burner software has it and your hardware supports it - "disk at once" causes the CD to be burned all in one continuous pass without ever stopping the laser, whereas otherwise the laser is turned off after each track and then started again for the next track - this starting and stopping of the laser causes slight discontinuities between the tracks, and whilst this generally shoul.
