The Satin finish is a matte finish and the easiest to maintain. Because it has a low sheen, it is very forgiving insofar as showing scratches, dents, and wear and tear over time. Answer: NO! The resin used in swimming pools must be protected by gelcoat or the resin will wear away within 4-7 years causing chaulking and cobalting. This must be avoided at all costs.
